PROGRAM DETAILS

Our recreational programs focus on the FMP (Fundamental Movement Patters) developed by Gymnastics Canada! Gymnast train for 45min-2hours 1 day a week for 8 weeks as they move through progressively difficult skills and drills on vault, floor, bars, beam, tramp & conditioning.

Pre School ClassesSTARS PROGRAMS

Fun parented and un-parented classes sure to help your child develop physical literacy skills at an early age. Gymnastics builds a strong foundation for an active life. We help build strength, increases flexibility, improve balance, quicken motor skills and create a sense of mind body awareness.
Baby Stars - 12-24 Months
Children aged 12-24 months refine motor skills in an atmosphere that fosters imagination and complex play, with a focus on fine and gross motor skill development and mind-body awareness.
Future Stars - 2-3 Years
Gymnasts learn to run, jump, climb, balance and swing in a structured setting that centers around play, with a continued focus on fine and gross motor skill development and mind-body awareness.
Twinkle Stars - 3 + Years
The first independent class. Gymnasts learn the basic Fundamental Movement Patterns (FMPs)- landings, locomotions, balances, springs, swings, rotations and object manipulation. Skills are incorporated into games and on the various apparatus. Skills include forward rolls, running, log rolls, donkey kicks and baby cartwheels.
Rising Stars - 4 + Years
Gymnasts continue working on the Fundamental Movement Patterns (FMPs) on all the apparatus (balance beams, bars, floor, vault and trampoline), with an emphasis on progressing through their skills. Gymnasts develop their balance and begin trampoline skills. Backward rolls are introduced.
Super Stars - 5+ Years
Coach recommended. Gymnasts progress through more advanced skills on the various apparatus, with an emphasis on body position, strength and balance. Gymnasts continue to develop their cartwheels, handstands, forward and backward rolls, as well as balance beam, bar and trampoline skills.
Super Novas - 6+ Years
Coach recommended. Gymnasts progress through more advanced skills, such as pullover and dismounts on uneven bars, kick up to handstand and roundoff. Gymnasts develop more flexibility through practicing splits and bridges.

School aged classesCAN GYM PROGRAM

We follow the CanGym program developed by Gymnastics Canada. Girls and boys learn the basics of skills & drills on vault, floor, bars, beam, tramp & conditioning. Children earn ribbons as they progress through levels. There are 12 levels & ribbons - burgundy, red, tan, bronze, purple, blue, turquoise, silver, orange, yellow, green and gold. The gymnast has completed a ribbon when he/she has "mastered" each skill in that level. Some ribbons may take only one session to complete, while most may require multiple sessions. We offer co-ed classes, boys only classes as well.
Red - 6-8 years
Introduction to our CanGym badge program. Gymnasts are introduced to basic gymnastics skills, including balances, forward and backward rolls, beginner cartwheels, beginner handstands, swings, hangs and basic trampoline skills.
Tan - 6-8 years
Gymnasts progress through the basic skills introduced in Red, with a focus on mastering basic body positions, as well as improving balance, coordination and spatial orientation.
Bronze - 9-11 years
Gymnasts are introduced to intermediate gymnastics skills, including pullover, bridge and power hurdle. Conditioning activities are used to increase strength, endurance, power and flexibility.
Purple/Blue +
Gymnasts begin advanced gymnastics skills and refine intermediate skills, focusing on body positions, strength, flexibility and power. Inversions, or ‘flight skills’ are introduced in the form of handsprings. Twisting skills are introduced on trampoline.
